A Platform Built With Purpose
From a data science research project to an ambitious travel platform — here's how Beautiful Great Britain came to be.
Our founder completed an MSc in Advanced Data Science at Bangor University, writing his dissertation on machine learning for customer classification — the intellectual foundation for personalised travel recommendations at scale.
Alongside his studies, the concept crystallised: applying ML techniques to match travellers with destinations they'll truly love. Beautiful Great Britain was conceived and planning began.
Following graduation, development began in earnest — building the content architecture, sustainability scoring framework, and initial ML recommendation logic across all four nations.
Beautiful Great Britain launched publicly across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Early hospitality partnerships were established across Scotland.
Pursuing partnerships with VisitScotland, VisitEngland, and local councils. Expanding the ML engine and launching the Smart Itinerary Builder.
